Hi there I have been getting nasty crashes in firefox with the latest Java VM. I had it running fine on the last release but now if there is any java on a page firefox dies instantly. I have done a fresh build of SARGE updated pretty much everything via apt but still the same issue. Here is my install process it would be great if someone could help.

installed firefox via apt...
check for other java on machine.
downloaded latest javaVM (j2re_1.4.2_06-1_i386.rpm.bin)
extracted file
alien j2re_1.4.2_06-1_i386.rpm
installed j2re_1.4.2_06-1_i386.deb via kpackage with no errors.
went to usr/bin
ln -s /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_06/bin/java java
went to /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/
ln -s /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Is there some kind of log i could be checking?

And got no old softlink in "~/.mozilla/plugins/" ?
