Angry Firefox closes unexpectedly when viewing videos, games etc.

Im using ubuntu 8.04 and using Firefox version 3.0.5 and whenever im trying to watch an embeded video, play a game, anything of that nature, firefox ALWAYS closes on the first attempt. I then click "return to previous session" when it prompts me, and it usually works fine, however, its annoying.
Is there a problem with firefox, or my system, and how can i remedy this?
Thanks

Have you tried creating a new clean Firefox profile with no extensions/add-ons to see if the problem persists ?
