Firefox browser closes on some websites

Hi,

I never seemed to have this problem with Firefox before, but on some websites (eg: www.bigbrother.com.au) the browser seems to load the page, then it just closes. At time's it wont even load the page, and just exits.

I used to run Fedora Core 2 without any problems, but since I've formatted an re-installed Fedora, im having these problems. I've tried using both 0.9.1 and 0.8 versions of Firefox, but still the same thing.

I ran firefox from command line, and this is the output I receive when it closes;

Code:
[kristijan@neo firefox]$ ./firefox
ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1056:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p failed: Device or resource busy
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Exec of "java_vm" failed: 2
<
System error?:: No such file or directory

** (Gecko:3943): WARNING **: Serious fd usage error 19

** (Gecko:3943): WARNING **: Serious fd usage error 17
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not read ack from child process
System error?:: No such file or directory
Now, about:plugins shows that I have libjavaplugin_oji.so loaded. So I can't really work out what the problem is. If anymore information is required, just ask.

Kristijan

This happened to me when I symlinked the java vm from the ns610 directory to the firefox plugins page. Try linking instead to the libjavaplugin_oji.so in the ns610-gcc3 folder if you haven't done that already. Otherwise you're using the wrong version of Java

Thanks BluePyre, all sorted out now. I was linking to the correct lib file, just the way I was linking was incorrect. I must have hard linked by accident, instead of soft.

Regards
Kristijan

I had the same problem as you, Kristijan, in that I hard-linked the lib file. Symlinking fixed the problem.
