Firefox 64 bit 1.0?
Im running ubuntu 64 bit which uses the 64 bit version of firefox 0.9.3 but I want to upgrade to 1.0 1.0 isnt available yet in the ubuntu repository so I went to mozilla.org, but I cant find the 64 bit version there? Can someone tell me where I could find the 64 bit 1.0 version?
Or: afaik, flashplayer isnt available (yet) in 64 bit which makes some pages look stupid. I believe Ive read somewhere that installing the 32 bit version of firefox on a 64 bit os allows you to install flashplayer again. Is this true or just a rumor? If I could choose between 64 bit without flash or 32 bit with flash, Id go for the latter :) |
This is just an assumption, but if your 64-bit OS is capable of running 32-bit applications, I don't see why you can't use the 32-bit version of Flash, either.

I tried installing 32bit .deb and the package from mozilla.org but they wont install. Someone told Id have to hack into things to achieve it then, but since Im new with linux I wont do that.
Ive also been told the 64 bit is in hoary, but if Id install that it would also install other dependencies which may break my install. Is the 64 bit version 1.0 really not available as a standalone download? |
