firefox 1.0.4 / jre 1.4.1_02
how to get java working with firefox?
i want to get the jre 1.4.1_02 working within firefox (1.0.4) - i follwed instructions from sun to get it working with mozilla but didn't suceed.
HELP! PLEASE!!!

thanks!
i just checked out the instructuions from your first post.
but it didn't help - maybe because i installed "jre.....rpm.bin) is that what they are asking for??? or just .bin?? how i can get rid of the installed version?? just delete the folder???
i just left windows behind and having severe problems with four issues (java, video-card, sound-card, card-reader) - everything else is just GREAT!!!!

to uninstll an rpm do
# rpm -e jre
The rpm didn't work for me either. you need the .bin file.

thanks for the help-but i finally fgured out that only jre 1.5.x can be installed and wokring properly - all instructions for jre 1.4.1_02 didn't help - so i'll stick around with 1.5.x even if i would need 1.4.1_02 for some apps what i use - hope they change that soon!!
THANKS AGAIN!!!!
i still have three other problems!!! (not solved)
