firebird fonts...

i've recently installed mozilla firebird and thunderbird on mdk9.1. everything is nice, i quite like them both, but i have a font problem - thunderbird has everything in high-quality font, but firebird (toolbar AND sites) is barely readable...i've checked the font options, and here's what they say:
fonts for: western
proportional: serif size:16
serif:b&h-luxi serif-iso8859-1
sans-serif:b&h-luxi sans-iso8859-1
monospace:b&h-luxi mono-iso8859-1 size:12
display resolution: system setting minimum font size:none

it's quite similar to thunderbird's font settings, but the view is NOT so similar...
what can i do? any suggestions?thanx

if you're having trouble b/c the fonts are not anti-aliased, you should get the XFT-enabled version from the mozilla ftp site.

i went to mozilla's ftp site, and haven't found anything usefull - there's only one 0.6 and 0.6.1 (the one i use) version of firebird for linux...
there are also so-called contributed releases, especially MozillaFirebird-0.6.1-i686-pc-linux-gnu-ctl-svg-xft.tar.gz, its readme says it supports xft by default, but also says:
This build supports CTL (Complex Text Layout) as required to render
languages and scripts like Thai/Tamil/etc. correctly
i don't need the support for thai!!! so what do i do?
thanx for (hopefully) help

that one might work fine, or check under nightly builds. i think that's where i got mine IIRC (if i remember correctly). it should have gtk2+ and XFT in the file name.

edit: try this one:
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/pu...0-09-09-trunk/
