find articles on refactor bash profile file


I want to have one .bash_profile works on multiple platform, ubuntu, debian, redhat, cygwin, osx. So how should I organize .bash_profile?

it can be multiple files in some subdir

would be nice to explain what do you want to achieve.
If your hosts can reach a common storage you can store your common profile settings on it. add a line to local .bash_profiles to source it.
