Question Filesystem kernel rewriting Problem

Dear all,

I'd like to get some consultation from you guys. I'm still a newbie Linux programmer but being faced with a challenging task which requires filesystem kernel implemented on Peripheral bus rather than normal ISA/PCI Bus. Thus all physical data stored in a mobile type IDE can be accessed through a peripheral Bus.

I really don't know how/what to start to tackle the problem. Your opinons will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
