File structure of Linux

Can any one point me out to a sorce which details the file structure of Linux? Also, how it is the same and different from UNIX.

I'm in the process of setting up a small network at home with XP pro and Linux 7.x.

Thanx..........

you might want to look into samba. i don't have much experience with it myself so i'm unable to give you exact pointers. however, it enables windows/linux file access.

do you have a link where I can download 7.x, or is it top secret? heck, i thought the development kernel was 2.5.x but I guess they're just lying to us. Do you know how the usb support is on 7.x. :p

hehe...just being stupid. Most likely you were referring to some distro 7.x (RH?) - not Linux 7.x

here's one description (of howto setup partitions):

Thanks for the links everybody! Very helpful.

You'll have to forgive me cuckoopint, your exploitation of my ignorance was right on. Wow, you even know the kernel version of Linux, Lil’ bit o’ sarcasm.
I did mean RH 7.x.

I just hope I wasn't too harsh....as I had mentioned, I was "just being stupid". :p

Good luck with that Linux Colonel!
