File Size Limit??

My archive email INBOX file is about 260MB.
I cannot access from any email client program.
My guess is that there is file size limit.

The volume is on a ext3 filesystem, sendmail 8.12.11, Slack 9.1, kernel 2.4.24.

The error below.

My /var/log/maillog file

Apr 16 13:09:00 domain popa3d[17095]: Failed or refused to load /var/spool/mail/archive

Any idea or suggestions are most welcome.

A quick look at the design of pop3d, is was designed to do this to avoid denial-of-service attacks:

* Introduce some sane limits on the mailbox size in order to prevent
* a single huge mailbox from stopping the entire POP service.

#define MAX_MAILBOX_MESSAGES 200000 <---- 200K email on each mailbox
#define MAX_MAILBOX_OPEN_BYTES 200000000 <------ 200MB on each mailbox
