File Sharing Apps - Any Text Only?

I've been trying to find a file-sharnig application that I'm comfortable with, and have tried 5 or 6 of the most-mentioned ones. LimeWire seems to work best at my location, but the java based interface is slow and clunky. I've had difficulty getting others to work at all.

Does anyone know of any text based file-sharing apps that would run outside of the xwindow? I'm thinking back to dos days where everything worked fine without a windows GUI....just wondering.

Thanks-

B.

Ok, cruise over here and check out all your options.

Mutella would appear to be console based

And here it is: Gnut

Hey, thank you...very helpful. Also, I've been having a great time with the list of commands and explanations linked in your signature. Sure is nice to have a pointer in the right direction!

j2re AND a text-based file-sharer

j2re - make sure it is linked to a directory in your path. Very important.

Text-only File-sharing? why, try giFT - it's VERY fast and includes an ncurses setup...if you aren't all about ncurses, try mldonkey - you can telnet into the client and run it that way. All text. w00t for your l33tness. : D
