File manager that read scripts that determine how to display a folder contents.

Is there a file manager that read scripts in a folder that determine the display and arrangement of it's contents?

Such as for a image folder, it can determine whether the file extension is displayed, for a music folder, automatically use one image named front.* as the folder picture, or even more, when click this folder, use music player to play it, rather than open the folder.
