Linux shouldn't show a 'D' drive, I guess you mean /dev/sdd or /dev/hdd? Anyway, there's not enough information to answer. What distribution? Version? What DE: KDE, Gnome, XFCE, LDXE? Do you use this memory often? What were you expecting to see? Is it causing other problems?

file manager

Debian GNU/Linux 4.0
think it's KDE

wasnt expecting a D drive at all, dont recall it ever being listed in file manager before - can only assume it's the SD drive?

even weirder, when i try to look at 'D's 'properties' when in file manager, it shuts itself down!

weirder - i took out the SD card, and i could still copy files to this 'D' drive, so it's not that. Any external hard drive i plug into a usb port seems to think it's this D drive, and doesnt show up. I've run a lsusb check, and it's recognised, but this stupid file manager won't show the contents! It used to before, what is going on?!

also, the search function doesnt work, i'm starting to think i;ve been sold a duff machine...

help please, someone?!
