File Manager
Ever since I've started using linux there's one thing that I miss: Windows Commander. I can hardly work in windows without this powreful tool and I can't find anything that can even compare to it in Linux (in what utility is concerned). Do you happen to know a good FILE manager in Linux?

i'd say.. avoid anything starting with a K, and try rox, not a bad set of tools, good looking and very light and fast,
|
I second that - rox is fast and doesn't eat a lot of recources.
|
K stuff is cool acid, :) I like Kmail for instance (although I am more and more getting ready to try sylpheed).
Rox is cool, but I really like the layout and things of Gentoo, it's pretty fast itself. Cool |
I like Midnight Commander (MC) for CLI and XWC for Xwindows.
|
I heard about a new one, still in Alpha development, called evidence, based on GTK+2. Should look like EFM (that was never released) and you should be able to get it at sourceforge.

I can highly recommend gnome-commander. Provides dual-pane operations, and integrated FTP client. Highly configurable, a real techies file manager.
