File conflicts on X86_64

Yes, I did updates using other repos besides base, extras, updates-released and now on my FC4 x86_64 install I have the following with most attempts to update any KDE package (using KYUM):

*** file /usr/share/mimelnk/text/x-tex.desktop from install of kdelibs-3.5.0-0.1.fc4 conflicts with file from package kdelibs-3.4.0-6

and many more like that.

My fault, just want to update and have a clean system and am willing to do anything to fix it. Everything works so it's nothing urgent, but I am enuf of a noob not to be sure what is the best way to clean this up even if I have to change files one at a time if I have to. I haven't been able to piece together exactly what I need to do from previous posts. So thanks in advance.

Brian1: I got them thru rpm.livna.org.

Are you using the x86_64 rpms of kde 3.4 and then are the kde 3.5 for X86_64. Reason asking is I have not seen any x86_64 for Fedora side yet. Just wondering where you found them. I ended up installing KDE 3.5 from source code on my x86_64 AMD Acer. Not bad just ended up removing .kde directory from home directory because of loss of the start menu.

The KDE-3.5 rpms from the FC4 updates work without conflict, if you make sure "all your ducks are in a row";

$ rpm -qa --queryformat '%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}.%{ARCH}.rpm\n' 'kde*' | sort
kdeaddons-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdeadmin-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdeartwork-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdebase-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdebase-devel-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdegames-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdegraphics-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdegraphics-devel-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdelibs-3.5.0-0.2.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdelibs-devel-3.5.0-0.2.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdemultimedia-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdenetwork-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdepim-3.5.0-0.2.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdepim-devel-3.5.0-0.2.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdeutils-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm
kdeutils-devel-3.5.0-0.1.fc4.x86_64.rpm

Now for the kicker;

$ cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 4.2 (Final)

$ uname -a
Linux Aspire5000 2.6.14.4dsdt #2 Fri Dec 16 13:08:32 EST 2005 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
