i changed /etc/fstab nearly 20 times add my usb memory stick to work and created /mnt/sda1 bu when i reboot folder and the lines disappear from their places any idea?

Either switch your distro, remove kudzu (assuming you are using redhat), configure it to not use kudzu (good luck), or configure your box to work with your memory stick better (make kudzu work for you, not against you).

I'd personally completely uninstall it. I don't like things mounting/umounting and tweaking my fstab for me. Also, I'd remove all references to it in /etc/fstab and replace those with options you actually desire (man mount). I am pretty sure this is what continually causes you to have to edit your fstab.
Other option is to not shut down so often ;) Cool |

Check out this thread. I was having a similar issue with USB and chaning modules fixed the problem. I'm not sure if it will work in your case but its worth a look.
