File Associations in Gnome 2.4 wont work

i cant for some reason get realplayer to open .ram,.ra, .rm files when i double click them.

if you right click on the file then go to "Open With" - "An Application" then click on "Associate Application" you can then choose the program to run, and icon, description etc.
