File Associations

After trying a couple tutorials and having no joy, I though I'd ask here. New install of Sarge and mp3's are opening with Totem Movie Player. I would like to chage this to XMMS. But so far, have been unable to, is there a GUI for Gnome which lets you change associations?

(Sorry for asking so much lately, I'm a newb, but once I get bette,r I shall start helping )

for main programs you can click Computer -> Desktop prefences ->prefered appplications for the main programs

you could also right click on the files icon select properties, in the Properties window that appears you select the Open With tab. If you don't see the program listed that you want to use then you click the Add button in the bottom right corner of this window - this will open the Add Application window - this is where you would type the name of the program you want to use xmms and then click add in bottom right.

Thanks, I originally went to that site but had no joy. I didn't realise is took a while/a restart for Linux to realise the change
