ffmpeg not capturing Desktop

Hello. I have been trying to capture my screen content through ffmpeg with the following command:
Quote:
ffmpeg -f x11grab -s 1024:768 -r 25 -i :0.0+0,0 out.mp4
. However, doing so, all I obtain is a gray background with some minor artifacts in top of it. What I do while the desktop is being recorded is irrelevant, the result is always the same. What am I doing wrong? I don't know what is x11grab, but is possible that I do not have the necessary files related to it on my pc? Anyway, thanks for the effort.

try this:
Code:
ffmpeg -r 30 -s 1600x900 -f x11grab -i :0.0 -vcodec msmpeg4v2 -qscale 2 screencap002.avi
you can of course change the file type, and you hopefully should be able to decipher what is what, then change that to your needs as well.

that works too, you had it misaligned
Code:
ffmpeg -r 25 -s 1024:768 -f x11grab -i :0.0+0,0 out.mp4

Thanks for the answers. This one
Code:
ffmpeg -r 30 -s 1600x900 -f x11grab -i :0.0 -vcodec msmpeg4v2 -qscale 2 screencap002.avi
worked after changing the resolution to 1024:768
