To whom it may concern,

I am trying to ./configure lame onto my macbook pro but it is not working. It seems that when I execute the command I do not have the required dependencies to install lame. This is what comes up:checking for gawk... no
checking for mawk... no
checking for nawk... no
checking for awk... awk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for style of include used by make... none
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
Does anyone know a site where I can get these dependencies from? Anything would be much appreciated.

They should be on your cd/dvd. You need to install the C++ and the GCC package plus others listed above. Use your package manager and search for the required/missing files.

It might help if you posted which distro and version.

How do I get to my package manager? the distro is mac osx version 10.4.10
Also is there another way to get the dependencies other than installing the cd/dvd they gave me? If I do that the version will be lowered to 10.4.9.

I suspect you are not running Linux! This link should help: http://aplawrence.com/MacOSX/xcode.html
