FF3 Gripe
Hi, this isn't much but it's annoying me.
Can anyone please tell me how to set FF3 so that when I click 'Create Folder' (when saving a file) that it automatically opens the new folder, not to create the folder and dump it alphabetically (esp. if it's out of view).
Cheers.

The problem with that is that you first need to rename the folder after you hit "create folder" so I really don't think it's possible anyways. does it behave the way you want in other applications?

eh?
Yes it prompts me to name the folder. But upon pressing return it reorders the list, hence losing focus, but then doesn't re-select the new folder (so can't press return again to enter).
Especially when using a web browser to save a file, if you create a new folder, you're 99% likely that you'll want to descend into it. (it's not like win where you can move, del, rename, etc...)
Initially I thought that gedit handled it the old way (hence the ff gripe), but i've just tested and it did the same. I made a folder called xyz, and it disappeared at least 10 below the horizon, and when I pressed return twice, it saved the file in the home directory (yes, the wrong place). So, I suppose it might be a GTK issue, even if just at the config level (yes i'd checked about:config before starting this).
TBC...

No, I didn't think it was a firefox problem either. You might have some luck with "gconf-editor"... though I looked for myself under the nautilus config and couldn't find anything...
If you do find a solution to this, I'd be interested to know.

OK so I download a file, click Save, create a folder, change the name and it immediately puts me insde the folder to save my file..
I am not getting the same issue as you are describing.
Debian / Gnome / Firefox 3.0.6

@delite:
Are you running ubuntu 8.10?
I found a bug reported here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/gtk/+bug/293767
I'm running ubuntu 8.10 and the same thing happens to me. But on my slackbox I have no problems.
Sorry this isn't a solution, but at least you can know the source of the problem isn't just you.
