Few questions bout mail servers.


I was wonderin if I install a mail server on my RH 9 comp can I have User@X.com X bein what I want it to? and How hard is it to install/use?
And where can I learn more bout it?

You can use a virtual domain, try to type man virtual for more information.

You can be anyone you want to be!!

Although using any combination of the words Hussain and Saddam in an email address is probably not too good an idea

If you run postfix MTA and want to learn how to set it up, just go to

www.postfix.org

and follow one of the numerous links. There is also a very good FAQ there, that should reply to your answer.

If you run sendmail mta, and want to learn how to set it up, go to

www.postfix.org

and check out how to replace sendmail with postfix.

Try to install the pakage postfix :

$ rpm -qlp postfix-1.1.11-11.i386.rpm | grep virtual
/etc/postfix/virtual
