few questions about KDE, 1) quick uninstall?

hay i used synaptic to download kde. it turns out that i dont like kde and want to remove it. the problem i have is when i installed it, i had to install other packages as well. my questions are:
is the best way to un-install by going through synaptic and finding all the packages? or is there a quicker way in which i can get rid of it and all the things it came with?

There is a surefire way to clean up your computer and remove all traces of KDE -- reinstall Linux. Anything else is doubtful.

Do you have a hard drive space problem? If not, leave KDE installed -- you might want to play with it sometime.

I'm not sure, but I think the command "sudo apt-get autoremove kde" might help.

thats what i was thinking, i wasn't sure if it would delete all the other packages that came with it. and i hate having bits of old programmes scattered everywhere without anything that links them together

I assume that is a Mint Q -- you really ought to explicitly say what distro the you are asking about.

While most of us who can help are aware that synaptic implies Debian-based, that still isn't enough to give you the specific advice you need.

General advice -- uninstall the same package you used to install KDE.

If (the biggest* word in the English language) you were using Ubuntu, the special package install KDE is kubuntu-desktop. If that pkg. is also available in Mint, perhaps uninstalling kubuntu-desktop will clean out all traces of KDE for you.

BTW, did it install 3.x or 4.y?
