I'm using Sarge and have an odd problem with fetchmail. It silently hangs when run from cron. I get a "another foreground fetchmail running at [pid]" error messsage on subsequent tries to invoke it, either from cron (it sends me an email about it) or manually.

If I run it manually before cron executes it, everything is fine (0 exit status). I do NOT want to run it in daemon mode, as I cannot use the fetchall function, which I need.

I found a script while googling that kills a hanging fetchmail, but this still doesn't solve the root cause.

Suggestions?
