Fetchmail autostart problem

Hi,

I have setup .fetchmailrc file in root home. When I am loggen in and I type fetchmail -d 100 the fetchmail daemon starts fine and I also get mail into ny mailbox.

But I want to autostart fetchmail. I am polling multiple mail boxes and storing them in various mail boxes.
So I edited /etc/rc.d/rc.local and inserted the line
- fetchmail -d 100

The error when I start the machine is no mail server specified.

So I do - fetchmail -d 100 localhost.

Then it asks for - Password for root@localhost.

How do I get around this problem.

Regards

You need to specify a fetchmailrc file.
Do something like that:
Code:
/path/to/fetchmail -f /etc/fetchmailrc

cheers,

Thanks

Thanks marozsas. Your suggestion worked.

Just 1 idiosynchracy. The first line of my fetchmailrc file was set daemon 100. But fetchmail refused to start as daemon. It exited after 1 cycle.

So I start the script as

fetchmail -f /etc/.fetchmailrc -d 100

Thanks once again

Regards
