festival voices?

Can I choose different voices in Festival just using the command line? (such as the SLT female American voice?)

This link
does a great job of describing how to the voice in the festival environment.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to best go about creating voices in Festival? (for example what to do about all the referenced scripts which aren't packaged with Debian?)
