Fedora X server error-caught signal 11

Hi all,
Now yesterday i had a massive power surge and something went terribly wrong with my UPS. it just shut down suddenly. That also shut down my fedora box which i must say has had issues starting up.
Whenever i boot it up, i get the following error with regard to the X server:
x server could not start:caught signal 11.
So am given the options of viewing the error and what i see is that "no screens were found"
Am running fedora 7 on a dell optiplex 210L.

Anyway i can repair this without necessarily reinstalling the entire distro?

Thanks
