Fedora won't see my mouse

I have an old(ish) HP Omnibook XE2, Trying to install Fedora. Everything OK, except for problems with the mouse and touchpad.
The system won't recognise the mouse at all - its PS2 /3 buttons. On the touch pad, the finger control for the pointer is fine, but it doesn't allow me to 'tap' for enter - I have to click the side button.
Being a newby to Fedora, not sure how to proceed.

Thanks

David

What does it say about the mouse and other input devices in /etc/X11/xorg.conf ?
