fedora ---vi show chinese problem

hello ,I have some problem in vi,when I input chinese in some .cpp files (copied frm others),it says ".....write error, conversion failed",but if I create some new files then I can input chinese and everything is ok,that is why???my configuration is :$LC_ALL=zh_CN.GBK,$LANG=zh_CN
input method is xinput, external encoding in terminal is zh_CN.GBK(and when I use US.UTF-8,I can only input some peculiar characters),thanks.
