Fedora GCC/G++ Problem

I am having problems installing programs with Fedora 3 where it gives me errors stating that gcc/gcc c++ need to be installed. I have tried numerous rpms but they all say I need to install something else first. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

google for apt or yum on fedora. yum comes preinstalled, so you can just:

yum install gcc

and it will handle deps for you. some people prefer apt, so you might want to look into that.

If you have your Fedora CDs, you can use the install programs feature to grab working versions of gcc and g++. I think they are in the "development" section.

If you need the latest versions, you can then apt-get (or synaptic if you choose to get that) or yum to upgrade the gcc and g++ versions that you already have.
