Fedora Core 4 Add/Remove Apps. (Package Manager)

Is there any way to do this over the network? for example ftp http or even nfs? My cd rom is broken on my laptop and im trying to get the gnome development software installed. When try to update with yum it has a lot of dependency issues. Maybe I should update everything?? I really don't want to do that though because my partition is only 10 gigs for linux and im not sure if i'd have enough space. Thanks,
-digi

EDIT: nevermind... i was updating yum the wrong way.. lol.. thanks anyway

What you could do is download the DVD ISO image and mount it locally, then run Add/Remove Programs (Desktop>System Settings>Add/Remove Programs) to install the Gnome dev files.

Yes, you should use Yum to keep all your packages updated; Yum should resolve dependencies and not have issues (if it does you can post the issues here). A normal FC4 install takes only about 2 to 3 gigs (maybe 4 or 5 gigs max). Yum keeps a cache of previously downloaded packages that you can remove with "yum clean packages" if you are worried about space.
