Hey everyone,
I am trying to install Fedora Core 5 on a server, and the darn thing keeps on freezing at the same point during install, regardless of whether I use the CD's or the DVD version.
Basically, after hitting 'enter' to install in graphical mode, it flashes through a ton of text right away but halts at the following line, and won't move forward:
Quote:
Checking 'hlt' instruction... OK.

I have also tried installing in text mode, etc... using both the CD and DVD. Same problem still.
My system specs are:
AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+
MSI K8N Neo4/SLI
2GB OCZ DDR400 2-3-2-5
1x nVidia GeForce 6600GT PCI-E x16
2x 3Ware PCI RAID Controller Cards2x 250GB Western Digital in RAID1
2x 320GB Western Digital in RAID1
and a last note: I did try removing the RAID cards and using the onboard SATA, even with only one hard drive connected, and still hung at the same point. Has anyone seen this before and can you help me figure it out?
