fedora 2 and networking with W$


when i try opening Windows Network in fedora 2, i get the following erro message:

The Application nautilus has quit unexpectdly.
You can inform developers of what happened to help them fix it.or restart ..


I don't understand what's going on.
how can i connect my fedora 2 machine to a network of window XP running machines?

You need to make sure that you installed Samba. It isn't installed by default if you don't go through and select it during the Fedora install.

Some people use yum to get software, but that has never worked properly for me. I would recommend getting your hands on a nice fresh rpm for your kernel version from Samba's website and trying again.

Once you get samba working, (provided you are on the same 'workgroup' as the other computers) it really works very well (and smoothly).
