Firs this is first: Install Fedora. You can download the net install ISO for complete up-to-date fresh install.
Follow the Wizard prompts and partition your disk and etc. The last step is to select what to install.. Well, here simply chose the minimal option and hit next
just wait for a bit and you are done with the hard part
Reboot and login as root (we are doing all as GOD
) and:
yum localinstall --nogpgcheck
http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/...ble.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfr...ble.noarch.rpm
yum -y update
yum -y install kmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs glx-utils dkms
reboot
yum -y install Xorg xbmc hal xorg-x11-drv-evdev xorg-x11-utils xorg-x11-xinit xorg-x11-xinit-session
yum install alsa-firmware alsa-lib.x86_64 alsa-oss.x86_64 alsa-oss-libs.x86_64 alsa-utils.x86_64 python-alsa.x86_64
nvidia-xconfig
yum -y install nano
nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
add the following:
for 64-bit
Section "Files"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules"
EndSection
mv /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so.xorg
for 32-bit
Section "Files"
ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia"
ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules"
EndSection
reboot

add a user:
useradd -m -g users -G audio,video -s /bin/bash your_user_name
as a user (su your_user_name):
cat << EOF > ~/.xinitrc
#!/bin/sh
#
# ~/.xinitrc
#
# Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)
exec xbmc-standalone
#exec gnome-session
# exec startkde
# exec startxfce4
# exec wmaker
# exec icewm
# exec blackbox
# exec fluxbox
# exec openbox-session
# ...or the Window Manager of your choice
# exec xterm
EOF
again as a user (su your_user_name):
run
aslamixer
and unmute the spdif channels
now exit back to root and run:
alsactl store
Reboot and test > Login as user and run:

You should have now super fast XBMC running
