Unhappy Fedora 11 - aMSN - no webcam or audio

Hi everyone,

So I recently downloaded aMSN in hopes of being able to use the webcam and audio services to contact another person using windows. It doesn't work. I go to Account> Preferences> Connection and under File Transfer, peer-to-peer and NAT settings I see: "Type: IP-Restricted-NAT" and in red "You are firewalled or behind a router."

I'm not on a router, I'm on a dsl modem connected to a single desktop.

I searched other posts and websites about this issue (mostly posts from MAC users) but I can't follow through on Fedora 11 (GNOME Desktop).
Please help!

You have to do some port forwarding. Amsn should list the port it wants to use. You need to configure your modem/router to forward the port suggested by AMSN in the connection tab of the Preferences to your machine using the TCP protocol. Then amsn is a happy bunny. If there is only one connection possible, that is you cannot connect two machines simultaneously, then maybe it's an ISP thing or there's some sort of proxy blocking you. Based on the response of AMSN, I'd explore the port forwarding option first.
cheers,
jdk
