Fedora 10 and SAMBA problem! please help.

I've turned off both the firewall and SElinux.
I have run all the latest tests but this simple one just fails outright!

#nmblookup -B MYSERVER __SAMBA__
querying __SAMBA__ on 127.0.0.1
name_query failed to find name __SAMBA__

I also get:
Domain=[MYSERVER] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.2.8-0.26.fc10]
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME

I've testparm my smb.conf and no problems.

Any ideas.... Anyone???

Did you try reaching it with IP address?

Yes I can ping both computers no problem.

and also queried to see if the smb servers are running:
root 4109 0.0 0.0 10832 1608 ? Ss Feb08 0:02 nmbd -D
root 23202 0.0 0.0 4212 708 pts/0 S+ 08:10 0:00 grep nmb

I've even tried this:

querying __SAMBA__ on 127.0.0.1
name_query failed to find name __SAMBA__

still no luck.
