Fdisk and a live DVD
I am trying to Fdisk a CF card that is in a PCMCIA card reader (in a pcmcia cf adapter) on my desktop. but when i go to run the Fdisk command:
Fdisk /dev/sda I get a command not found is this with all Live CD versions or is it just this one. I am trying to install linux on a CF card for my netvista N2200 for some Thinnet terminals aroud the house. and I also read somewhere that it can be set up as a Firewall box and am looking at that too. Any help is welcome. Robert |
Why do you spell fdisk with an upper case "F"
You may also want to look at the first (possibly only), partition instead of the device with command as root: fdisk /dev/sda1 |
Depending on the distro, might need to be /sbin/fdisk (all lower case).
"su -" will also fix any pathing issues. fdisk works with disks - so it does need to be /dev/sda (presuming that is the correct drive). |
I'll Give it a try
The version that I downloaded from the web was SUSE 9.3 Live DVD.
I will give it a try when i get home, I'm at the mother in Laws computer at the moment :Pengy: |
