FC5 Yum OutofDate

Ok here's the problem... running a old fc5 install with web-server/email server etc..

I've neglected to run updates since getting it running..

Tried to do a yum-update and i get the following..

Code:
loading "installonlyn" plugin
setting up Update proccess
setting up repositories
core [1/3]
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/5/i386/os/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 12] Timeout: <urlopen error timed out>
Trying other mirror
Cannot open/read repomd.xml from core: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try
Error: failure: repodata/repomd.xml from core: [Errno 256] no more mirros to try.

I dont want to upgrade to fc9 just yet, but would like to get the current updates despite how old they might be for fc5..

anyone able to help.?

Support for FC5 was dropped about a year ago. There have been(nor will there be) no official updates since then. The support life for Fedora is now down to about a year. If you need longer support I would suggest you switch to Centos. Centos is RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) with the logos removed. It has a five year support life and is free to download. It "feels" like FC6 (which is what it was based on).
