Hello All,

I'm brand new to Linux after finally working up the chutzpa to break out on my own from Windows. Anyways, I downloaded and burned FC4 onto a DVD.iso via bittorrent from Duke. When I boot from the DVD is starts and when I boot into the install screen, I get a black screen and nothing happens. I've tried downloading CD's via FTP and HTTP, same thing happens.

System:
Dell Dimension 8400
BIOs AO6
Intel 3.2Ghz PT w/ HT
2 Gb Ram
925intel chipset
2 SATA HDD
Cable modem

I have a copy of FC3 on DVD that I received w/ a "Linux for Dummies" that installs fine.

Any suggestions? I've done a lot of Googleing but most info is beyond my knowledge at this point. Oh, one other thing...Linux is on the 2nd drive and windows on 1st. I turn off my 1st drive when using Linux and boot from 2nd drive.

Thanks for the advice, but I've tried that with the same result. I went so far as to jump ship and try to install Ubuntu w/ the same problem. I am able to get to the initial install screen from any media or OS, then when I hit <ENTER> to start the install, something initialized, then a black screen w/ a flashing cursor, then my DVD drive stops and nothing happens. I'm at a total loss. So far the only success I've had is w/ the FC3 install from a DVD I bought w/ a Linux for Dummies book.
