FC3 no task bar

I have a proglem with fedora core 3's task bar or that bar at the bottom of the screen that supposed to show when apps are open and the screens that you can change into. It disappeared sometime ago and every time I minimize something it goes to the bottom right side of the screen and then I can't see it or access that app anymore, all I can do is shut it down with the kill command. Has anyone see this or heard of this problem before and how do I get that bar back? I have looked around for a setting but I don't know what to really look for.
Thanks,

You need to right click on the panel, select add applet and the window list applet should be available for selection from a list. Sorry I can't be more precise coz I am not using GNOME at the moment.

You can log out and select KDE as the session in your login manager. You can also run "switchdesk kde" in a terminal and when you log out and back in again KDE will be your default desktop. I'll post exact details regarding your initial problem shortly when I have access to a machine running gnome.

Ok, you need to do the following,

Right click on an empty space on the bottom panel
Select Add to Panel
Scroll down in the menu that pops up and select Window Selector
Repeat steps 1 and 2 and then select Workspace Switcher
Oh, now I get what you mean. If you have the top panel, then

right click an empty space
select "new panel"
drag the panel to the bottom of your screen if it isn't already positioned there
Follow the steps in my previous post to add applets to your new bottom panel.

yeh I found out, I edited the last message . I clicked the empty space in the top start panel , the whole time I was trying to right click the bottom of the screen and messing with Create Launcher and stuff like that. Thanks again!
