FC2 RPM Installation Tree Not Found

I am trying to add applications to my FC2 machine through the add/remove applications menu. When the program starts up it gives me an error that says that the installation tree cannot be found: the path /mnt/dvd is not a valid installation source. How can I fix this? I have tried to put the cd-rom in the cd-rom/dvd drive before starting the app but that doesn't solve the problem. Do I have an RPM database problem?

I have the same problem with Red hat 9. I want to fix the problem, because I want to install a compiler and install some RPMs. I get the error

"The path /mnt/cdrom does not look like a valid installation source."

I heard stuff that you need to copy the red hat folder in the 3 cds or something but that does not make much sence to me. it just seems you have to change the path of the redhatpackageconfig command. But I don't know how too.
