Favorite online note-taking site?

Does anyone have any alternatives similar to ubernote http://www.ubernote.com/webnote/pages/default.aspx for taking good centralized online notes?

http://www.toodledo.com and no ads there is a benefit and not a "feature", unlike http://www.ubernote.com/webnote/pages/checklist.aspx

That is very slick, but I was looking for a note-taking site,.. for keeping track of story ideas, settings, characters, linux notes, etc.. not a task management/to-do list
site.

I do appreciate the reply though.

Look harder
It does "both" Tasks and Notes. (Very limited on the markup(s)).
http://www.toodledo.com/notebook/index.php#main

for down and dirty (text only), I use http://add0n.com/quickfox.html

installable apps/programs won't cut it for me. has to be an online 'web based' note thingy.

thanks for the idea though.

I've been using Evernote. What it (and most other apps like that) lacks is syntax highlighting/formatting. Otherwise, it'd be a complete solution.

I have also been using a password protected dokuwiki. Once you have mastered its syntax (very basic), you get quite productive.

I'm yet to see something similar to Emacs' org-mode online.

It is web-based (or it can be exclusively web-based)

Evernote doesn't need to be installed, you can use it entirely in a browser. I use it in chromeos as well as Linux.
