Favorite image viewer to launch images in?

When I double-click on an image in a file manager, which image viewer should the file manager open it with? The last time I looked into this was (probably well over) a decade ago, when the best choice was feh. Now, feh's still a good choice, but I'm sure there are other ones these days.

Vifm prefers the following:
  1. sxiv
  2. gpicview
  3. shotwell

And ranger prefers the following:
  1. pqiv
  2. sxiv
  3. feh
  4. mirage
  5. ristretto
  6. eog
  7. eom

And what do you prefer?

Not sure what I prefer, I've used Mirage for long time and I'm content with it. Why Mirage? I guess it had least dependencies, didn't try to pull in Gnome or KDE. I'm using feh to set the background image for my OpenBox setup.

Edit: feh is real useful when I review my security camera output - lots of jpg files.
