Fault tolerant IMAP server setup
I am looking for a good linux based solution for a fault tolerant IMAP mail setup.
My plan is to have 2 SMTP/IMAP servers (primary and secondary MX records) so that at least one server will be up at all times. Since the user's mail needs to exist on both machines, I was thinking of using a shared NFS drive to mount as the mail delivery location. If this sounds wrong, please let me know...
Cyrus specifically recommends not using an NFS drive for the maildirs. Courier claims to work fine with NFS. I have rejected IMAP_UW because I want to use maildirs rather than mbox format. I will be using Postfix for SMTP.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I would love to get Cyrus to work in this scenario, since OpenGroupware.org's suite works with Cyrus (I would like to use this, but it's not a must).
Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!
