RESOLVED
When I try and do "startx", prior to which I have installed xorg-x11 and gnome, I'm getting the following error message:
Code:
Fatal Server Error:
Cannot run in framebuffer mode. Please specify busIDs for all framebuffer devices
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

hey, sorry, I should have posted the answer as soon as I sloved it.. But if my memory serves me right, then I think I just needed to run "xorgconfig", and that pretty much patched up all my problems.

I know the topic is ancient, but it was a top Google result, so I'm posting in it.
I fixed this issue much easier using "xorgcfg" instead of "xorgconf". "xorgconf" requires you to know a LOT about your hardware, and "xorgcfg" probes and tries to figure out what's best, instead, then provides a nice graphical interface for making changes if you need them. Obviously, YMMV.
