I am having bad, bad issues with switching users in my brand new shiny install of Ubuntu-Mate 16.04.

This is on an older desktop that I share with my 8 year old. We need to switch back and forth between administrator and limited account at this point in his life.

When I try to switch between users without logging out, I get a black screen with no cursor and can't even bring up TTY with ctrl+alt+f1

ETA: It doesn't come back from suspend either.

Is there any hope or do I need to look into switching from Lightdm to GDM or even a whole different window manager?

ETAA: It turned out to be a kernel issue. I was using 4.7 which is kind of buggy. When I switched back to 4.4 everything worked fine.

I ran into that issue also with LightDM and newer kernels. I ended up using LXDM with newer kernels instead.
