Fail to creat new file in vim


I try to creat a new file by ":enew " command in vim,but failed .
eg,
:enew /home/terry/wind.c

vim gave me the error message : "Trailing characters" .
Why?

try:

w /home/terry/wind.c

You miss understand what "e" does.

If you wind.c already exists and you wish to overwrite it anyway use:

w! /home/terry/wind.c
