Question facing problem using apt-get install


i am facing this problem while using apt-get install

E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?

can anyone explain what does it mean and how to rectify it

Another instance of apt is running, probably auto update.
Wait and try again if it has finished
