f77 compiling problem

Dear All,

I have just installed Absoft fortran 77.
Installation seems to be OK.
But, when the first time I tried to compile a fortran code, I have got the message as follows;

FORTRAN 77 Compiler 7.5, Copyright (c) 1987-2001, Absoft Corp.
/opt/absoft/lib/libfio.a(ioerr.o)(.text+0x1fb): In function `_ioerr':
ioerr.c: warning: `sys_errlist' is deprecated; use `strerror' or `strerror_r' instead
/usr/bin/ld: errno: TLS definition in /lib/libc.so.6 section .tbss mismatches non-TLS reference in /opt/absoft/lib/libfio.a(open.o)
/lib/libc.so.6: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

What is actually the problem I have?
Now I am using linux fedora core 4.

Previously, I did not have such problem on fedora core 2.

Thank you very much for your helps.

Regards,

Eko

Looks like your fortran compiler doesn't understand Thread Local Storage (TLS). I am not sure of Fedora 4, but my system keeps two versions of libc.so.6, one which uses TLS and one using the older LDT threading model:

/lib/tls/libc.so.6
/lib/libc.so.6

Also: have you tried using the gnu fortran compiler? Typically called as g77.

Hi thanks for your reply.

I did try to use g77. But I received the message as
bash: g77: command not found.

How to install gnu fortran compiler g77?
Actually gcc-gfortran-Fortran 95 support is already installed on my system.

Please give me any suggestions.

Thanks you very much.

Eko
