Extreme amounts of newb
Just started using linux yesterday, using redhat linux, and, since i fear the command prompt, using gnome.
On windows, i use a direct connect program a lot, DC++. I found a version for linux, DCGUI, and downloaded the RPM. it put it in my \home\Brian folder. I doubleclicked, it went through some stuff, and said it installed. If i try doubleclicking it again, it says its already installed...... Now... Prepare yourself..... ...... Where did it install to? |
Don't be afraid to go to the "command prompt". A neat little thing you can type is:
whereis dcgui in a shell. That command will tell you where dcgui has been installed. It will most likely be in /usr/local/dcgui so navigate into that directory and look for the dcgui executable. |
thankyou crashed_again!!!!!
that 'whereis' command is one of the most useful programs I have ever known, I spent ages looking for x-chats dir earlier, again, THANKYOUUUUUU!!!!!' :D :D :D :D |
